Assistant Teacher/Floater

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and flexible Assistant Teacher/Floater to join our educational team. This role is vital in supporting classroom activities, assisting teachers, and ensuring a positive learning environment for children. The position involves providing assistance across various classrooms as needed, including helping with afternoon routines. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, proactive, and eager to contribute to the overall success of our educational programs.

Duties

• Support lead teachers in implementing daily lesson plans and classroom activities.
• Assist with supervising children during indoor and outdoor play, meals, and rest times.
• Help prepare classroom materials and organize learning resources.
• Provide one-on-one or small group support to students requiring additional assistance.
• Act as a substitute or float between classrooms to ensure coverage when teachers are absent or busy.
• Assist with afternoon routines, including activities, cleanup, and transition to dismissal procedures.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for children and staff.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth daily operations and effective communication.

Requirements

• Prior experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting is preferred.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
• Flexibility to adapt to different classrooms and daily needs, including helping with afternoon routines.
• Patience, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for supporting children's development.
• Ability to follow directions carefully while also taking initiative when appropriate.
• Must be reliable, responsible, and committed to creating a positive learning environment.

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
