Assistant Teachers and Floaters

Responsibilities

• Support lead teachers in implementing daily lesson plans that promote early childhood development and learning through play
• Supervise children during activities, transitions, meals, and outdoor play to ensure safety and engagement
• Assist with classroom management, behavior guidance, and fostering positive social interactions among children
• Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that encourages exploration and independence
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress, needs, and daily experiences
• Follow all health and safety protocols, including pediatric first aid and CPR procedures when necessary
• Adapt quickly to different classrooms or age groups as a floater to meet the center’s staffing needs

Skills

• Experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or early childhood education settings
• Knowledge of childhood development principles and age-appropriate activities
• Certification in first aid and CPR; pediatric first aid training preferred
• Familiarity with special education strategies and working with children with disabilities is a plus
• Strong child supervision skills combined with classroom management abilities
• Excellent communication skills for parent interactions and team collaboration
• Ability to remain flexible, energetic, and proactive in a fast-paced environment
• Understanding of mandated reporting laws related to child safety and welfare

We are willing to train the right person. Background checks and CPR required, but can provide the training and help with certification.

Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40.0 per week
