Assistant Technical Manager

Job Overview:

The Assistant Technical Manager oversees the technical operations of the company in the respective branch. Reporting to the Technical Manager. This role ensuring smooth operations, efficient resource management, and exceptional customer. The Assistant Technical Manager plays a critical role in ensure compliance with ISO/IEC 17025, drive technical excellence, and collaborate across departments to deliver top-tier service to our customers.

Job Responsibilities:

• To manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the engineer/technician, including staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation.
• To ensure compliance with company policies, ISO17025, procedures, and industry regulations in both locations.
• To provide technical direction and resolve complex calibration or equipment issues.
• To monitor technical performance against key performance indicators (KPIs) and take corrective actions as needed to meet or exceed targets.
• To supervise and support staff, provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to foster a positive and productive work environment.
• To collaborate with Sales, Quality, and Operations teams to meet project timelines.
• To develop and review SOPs, technical protocols, and internal training materials.
• To collaborate with the Branch Manager/Operation Manager/Directors to develop and execute business plans, budgets, and forecasts for the branch.
• To conduct regular branch meetings and performance reviews to communicate goals, expectations, and feedback to staff.
• To monitor technical needs, and reference/equipment maintenance to ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness.
• To stay informed about industry standards, regulatory changes, developments, and best practices to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
• To travel between the respective branches as needed to oversee operations, attend meetings, and support staff.
• To perform any other duties as determined by the Management, which is considered beneficial to the Company and within your capabilities, without detriment or bringing injury to yourself.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Science, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in production operations, technical operations, or quality systems, preferably in the calibration services industry or related field.
• Strong knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 standards and calibration procedures.
• Strong leadership and managerial skills, excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, with the ability to build relationships cross-department and customer support.

Pay: RM4,000.00 - RM6,000.00 per month
