Assistant Technical Superintendent

Cape Maritime Corporation S.A. based in center of Athens, with a fleet of modern oil/product/chemical tankers, is seeking an Assistant Technical Superintendent.

Required Qualifications:

• An academic degree from a Technical Institution (Naval Architect or Mechanical Engineer or related discipline).
• Well-established previous work experience of at least 2 years in Tankers.
• Excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, essential for effective collaboration with shipboard and shore-based personnel.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and coordinate the technical operation, maintenance, and PMS performance of assigned vessels, ensuring timely completion of maintenance activities, defect rectification, and outstanding jobs.
• Provide technical support and guidance to Masters, Chief Engineers, and onboard personnel, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant vessel operations in accordance with Company procedures, Class, Flag, and industry requirements.
• Monitor vessel condition, performance, certificates, surveys, and inspection findings, ensuring timely corrective actions and continuous compliance with regulatory and company standards.
• Plan, coordinate, and supervise repairs, dry dockings, and maintenance projects, including damage repairs, troubleshooting, and implementation of preventive measures to improve reliability and performance.
• Manage technical logistics and operational readiness, including critical spare parts availability, machinery condition monitoring, bunker and lubricating oil analysis follow-up, and coordination with purchasing and shore-based departments.
• Monitor and record the progress of the Technical Department’s Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and assist in preparing agendas, data, and reports for quarterly and annual Management Review meetings.
• Support the preparation for TMSA audits.
