Essential Skills / KSA

• Basic knowledge of fitness, exercise, strength training, and cardiovascular workouts.
• Previous experience in a gym, fitness center, or similar environment is preferred.
• Good understanding of correct exercise techniques and gym equipment.
• Ability to demonstrate and explain exercises clearly to gym members.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Physically fit and able to assist members during workouts.
• Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions from the Senior/Head Gym Trainer.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and professional gym environment.
• Basic understanding of health and safety procedures.

Desirable Skills / KSA

• Certification in Personal Training, Fitness Training, Sports Science, or a related field.
• First Aid and CPR certification.
• Experience assisting with personal training or group exercise sessions.
• Knowledge of basic nutrition and healthy lifestyle practices.
• Experience preparing basic workout programs for different fitness levels.
• Knowledge of strength and conditioning principles.
• Good understanding of injury prevention and safe exercise practices.
• Previous experience working with beginners, athletes, or diverse age groups.
• Ability to motivate and encourage gym members to achieve their fitness goals.

Key Responsibilities

To assist in the smooth operation of the Gym by providing fitness guidance, supervising users, ensuring proper maintenance and cleanliness of gym equipment, and maintaining a safe and disciplined training environment.

• Assist in conducting daily fitness/training sessions and programs.
• Supervise gym activities and ensure safety, discipline, and proper equipment usage.
• Ensure daily cleaning, dusting, sanitization, and proper arrangement of all gym equipment.
• Keep gym machines, weights, benches, mats, mirrors, and workout areas clean, hygienic, and ready for use.
• Conduct routine checks of gym equipment and promptly report faults, damage, or maintenance requirements.
• Assist in minor routine maintenance and proper care of gym equipment, where required.
• Ensure proper arrangement and cleanliness of the entire gym facility.
• Maintain basic attendance/training records as required.
• Provide professional and courteous assistance to gym users.

Term and Conditions

Candidates may be considered ineligible for the post due to any of the following reasons:

• 3rd Div in academic career / weak academic profile.

• NUST employees with less than one year of service with NUST and / or absence of NOC from Head of Institution.

• In process of pursuing a required degree.

• Medically unfit.

Candidates serving in Govt departments or Armed forces will be required to furnish a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their respective parent department / organization.

Internal candidates must obtain prior consent from their respective institution/department before applying for the position.
