Assistant Transport Incharge

Role & responsibilities

• Assist the Transport Incharge in managing daily transportation operations.
• Coordinate and communicate with bus drivers and transport staff.
• Monitor daily bus schedules, routes and timings.
• Ensure buses operate according to the assigned schedules and routes.
• Monitor student transportation and address transport-related concerns.
• Maintain records of buses, drivers, routes, attendance and daily trips.
• Coordinate with drivers regarding route changes, delays and operational issues.
• Monitor vehicle availability and report maintenance or repair requirements.
• Coordinate with the maintenance team for timely servicing and repairs.
• Handle student and staff transportation-related queries and complaints.
• Ensure compliance with university transport policies and safety procedures.
• Assist in managing transportation during events, examinations and special programs.
• Prepare daily/weekly transport reports and maintain necessary documentation.
• Handle emergency situations and coordinate with the concerned departments when required.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelor's Degree in any discipline.
• 510 years of experience in transport operations, fleet management, logistics, administration or a related field.
• Experience in managing or coordinating buses, drivers and transportation schedules will be preferred.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong coordination and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple transport-related activities simultaneously.
• Good knowledge of routes and local areas in and around Hyderabad will be an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of MS Office and Excel.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and prepare reports.
• Responsible, punctual and organized.
• Ability to work flexible hours when required.
• Candidates with immediate or short notice period will be preferred.
