What they need

Assistant Trip Leader

We are MEDLIFE. Our mission is to build a worldwide Movement empowering the poor in their fight for equal access to healthcare, education, and a safe home. Our vision is a world free from the constraints of poverty.

In order to achieve our goals, we are looking to expand our team of MEDLIFErs to help us bring Medicine, Education, and Development to Low-Income Families Everywhere. We need passionate advocates who have an immediate connection to our mission and vision. We need storytellers that can elevate the voice of community members in developing countries to reach student communities around the world. We need community organizers, who will rally groups together to fight for our cause, make positive connections, and build relationships with ease. We need problem solvers that can turn challenges into growth opportunities. And if you genuinely want to make the world a better place, we need you.

Assistant Trip Leader Role

As an Assistant Trip Leader you will work during our Service Learning Trip; a week-long educational journey to Peru, where volunteers work hand in hand with the local community on development projects and mobile medical clinics. The trip allows volunteers to understand the realities of extreme poverty first hand, personally connects them with the communities that MEDLIFE supports, and ignites action within them to join the MEDLIFE Movement in the fight for a world free from the constraints of poverty.

Your responsibilities will include assisting the Trip Leader of a group of volunteers in the operations of the trip and the mobile clinics and projects, acting as an interpreter between the medical professional or the community members and the volunteers. The ATL will help with the running of a mobile clinic, keeping the volunteers informed and leading activities like round tables. The ATL will also assist and accompany volunteers during optional activities and meals. Deal directly with the volunteers' issues and concerns, ensuring their wellbeing. Your support system will include your assigned Trip Leader and the Operation Team.
