What they need
Assistant Venue Manager
Ninja Valley | Christchurch
Permanent Full-Time
Ninja Valley is a high-energy indoor adventure venue focused on helping guests feel welcome, encouraged, confident and more alive through movement, play and connection. We believe great experiences start with great people — and our 6E’s guide how we show up every day.
You Lead the Experience.
We’re looking for an Assistant Venue Manager to help lead our team and create unforgettable moments for every guest who walks through our doors.
This role is hands-on, people-first and all about leading by example. You’ll support daily operations, coach Team Leaders and Crew, take ownership of the venue when required, and help deliver an experience guests can’t stop talking about.
This position includes sole-charge responsibilities and requires a strong commitment to Health & Safety leadership.
You don’t just manage shifts — you shape experiences.
At Ninja Valley, we believe:
We notice what others miss.
We improve every day.
We care about the details.
We lead with energy, warmth and discipline.
We work through our 6E’s:
Experience – Create fun, safe and memorable moments
Energy – Bring enthusiasm, urgency and positivity
Engagement – Stay present, connected and involved
Encouragement – Build confidence in guests and teammates
Education – Coach, guide and develop others
Enforcement – Maintain safety, standards and accountability
You’ll thrive in this role if:
You’re a natural leader who enjoys being on the floor, supporting people and keeping things running smoothly. You balance guest experience with operational responsibility and take pride in doing both well.
Alongside leading people, you are comfortable supporting the systems that make great experiences possible — including rostering support, basic admin and reporting, Health & Safety compliance and ensuring procedures are consistently followed.
You’ll succeed here if you:
- Have leadership experience in hospitality, recreation, retail or similar
- Are confident leading people in a fast-paced environment
- Enjoy being hands-on and visible on the floor
- Are comfortable with admin, structure and follow-through
- Can manage Health & Safety responsibilities (First Aid certificate required)
- Stay calm under pressure and lead with consistency
- Care deeply about team culture and guest experience
- Take pride in improving systems, standards and experiences
If you’re ready to lead the team, own the guest experience and bring the 6E’s to life every day — we’d love to hear from you.
How to apply:
Please submit your CV and cover letter outlining your experience and telling us which of the 6E’s best describes your leadership style and why.
Other offers great for you!
