Assistant Venue Manager

About the Role

On Ice is looking for enthusiastic, organised and hands-on Assistant Venue Managers to join our management team for the 2026 ice-skating season.

We have multiple positions available across our Dublin, Dundrum and Swords locations.

Working alongside the Venue Manager, you will help oversee the day-to-day operation of a busy seasonal ice-skating attraction.

This is a practical management position requiring excellent customer service, strong leadership and the ability to remain organised in a fast-paced environment.

• Key Responsibilities Support the Area or Venue Manager with the overall day-to-day running of the venue.
• Supervise, motivate and support the venue team during shifts. Help coordinate staff rotas, breaks and daily duties.
• Ensure customers receive a friendly, professional and enjoyable experience.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures.
• Oversee admissions, skate hire and customer-flow operations. Help maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout the venue.
• Ensure company health & safety procedures and operational policies are followed.
• Respond professionally to customer queries, complaints and operational issues. Assist with cash handling, till procedures and end-of-day reconciliation where required.
• Monitor venue capacity and help ensure skating sessions operate efficiently and on schedule.
• Support staff training and ensure team members understand their responsibilities.
• Assist with incident reporting and operational documentation.
• Work closely with the Venue Manager and senior management team.
• Be prepared to take responsibility for the venue when the Venue Manager is unavailable.

Previous supervisory, management, hospitality, leisure, events, retail or entertainment experience is required.

You should have strong communication and leadership skills, be reliable and well organised, have a positive hands-on attitude, and be comfortable dealing with both customers and staff.

Candidates must be flexible, as the role will include evenings, weekends, school holidays and peak Christmas periods.

Pay: From €30,000.00 per year
