Assistant Venue Manager | The Sporting Globe Bayside Venues

This is a role for someone who loves being in the middle of the action.

We're looking for a hands on leader who thrives in fast paced venues, leads from the front, and knows how to bring energy, standards and culture together in one shift.

At The Sporting Globe, game days are big, nights are loud, and no two shifts are ever the same. You'll help lead a high volume venue with sport, functions, late night trade, TAB, food, drinks, and a young, energetic team that values leaders who lead by example.

As an Assistant Venue Manager, you'll be a key part of our leadership team, taking ownership of your shifts, supporting your people and ensuring every guest has a great experience.

What the role looks like:

Leading shifts from the floor and keeping service running smoothly during busy periods

Coaching, motivating and supporting team members to deliver exceptional guest experiences

Maintaining high standards across service, presentation, cleanliness and compliance

Overseeing daily operations, including opening, closing and cash management procedures

Managing functions, major sporting events and high volume trade

Confidently resolving guest concerns and handling challenges as they arise

Supporting the Venue Manager in building a positive, accountable and high performing team culture

Making decisions on shift, taking initiative and setting the standard for your team

Jumping in wherever needed, from running food and drinks to changing kegs

What we're looking for:

Hospitality leadership experience in a fast paced pub, bar or restaurant

Previous experience as an Assistant Venue Manager or experienced Duty Manager is highly regarded

A confident, approachable leader who enjoys developing people

Strong communication skills and a visible presence on the floor

The ability to stay calm under pressure, think on your feet and make good decisions

Someone who takes ownership of their shifts and leads by example

Pride in high standards, attention to detail and creating a great team environment

Availability across nights, weekends and public holidays
