Assistant Warehouse Manager

Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Warehouse Manager to join our dynamic logistics team. In this vital role, you will support the overall management of warehouse operations, ensuring efficient distribution, inventory control, and process improvement initiatives. Duties

• Assist in overseeing daily warehouse activities, including shipping, receiving, inventory management, and material handling operations
• Support warehouse staff by providing guidance on warehouse procedures, safety protocols, and operational best practices
• Coordinate with team members to optimize workflow and implement process improvements using lean management principles
• Operate and supervise the use of forklift trucks and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently
• Maintain accurate inventory records using warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory management software; conduct regular cycle counts and audits
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies to promote a secure working environment
• Facilitate effective communication across teams, including managing team schedules, conducting performance feedback, and supporting team leadership development
• Assist in managing shipping & receiving processes to ensure timely dispatches and deliveries while maintaining high accuracy levels

Experience

• Proven experience in warehouse operations or distribution center environments with a strong understanding of logistics processes
• Prior supervisory or team leadership experience within a warehouse setting is highly preferred
• Hands-on experience with warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory management systems, RF scanners, and Microsoft Office tools
• Demonstrated ability to operate material handling equipment such as forklifts safely; certification is a plus
• Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to heavy lifting, materials handling, and warehouse safety protocols
• Strong managerial communication skills with the ability to motivate teams and manage multiple priorities effectively
• Experience with process improvement methodologies such as lean management or continuous improvement initiatives is advantageous
