The ideal candidate is a proactive leader committed to advocating for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities while fostering a supportive and effective workplace culture.
Core Responsibilities

· Regulatory Compliance & Licensing: Ensure all services fully comply with state DD division regulations, Medicaid waiver standards, and CMS rules. Lead preparation for regular audits, quality reviews, and licensing surveys.
· Staff Leadership & Development: Supervise, mentor, and evaluate program coordinators, case managers, and direct support professionals (DSPs).
· ISP Implementation & Advocacy: Oversee the development, rollout, and review of Individualized Service Plans (ISPs). Partner closely with behavioral specialists, families, service coordinators, and healthcare professionals to adapt care strategies.
· Incident Management & Safety: Serve as a primary point of contact for incident reporting (GERs/IRs). Oversee investigations, ensure timely reporting to state entities, and implement corrective action plans.
· Financial & Resource Management: Support the Director in managing the department budget, tracking authorized Medicaid service hours, managing overtime, and ensuring efficient resource utilization.
· Crisis Escalation & On-Call Rotation: Participate in an executive on-call rotation to provide guidance and emergency decision-making for residential or staffing crises.
· Day-to-Day Problem Solving: Serve as the first line of defense for immediate operational issues, staffing shortages, scheduling conflicts, and crisis interventions.
· Coordinator Backup Coverage: Step in immediately to perform all duties of a Program/Service Coordinator whenever a coordinator is out, underperforming, or unable to complete their tasks.
· Referrals & Intakes: Manage and review the referral list, conduct initial assessments, and oversee the onboarding process for new individuals entering our DD programs.
Required Skills & Competencies
· DD System Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of the Medicaid Waiver system, HCBS settings rules, individual rights, and the tracking of billing documentation.
· Person-Centered Planning: Strong background in applying person-centered philosophies to help individuals maximize independence.
· Crisis Management & De-escalation: Proficient in crisis intervention methodologies (e.g., CPI, MANDT, or state-specific approved systems).
· Leadership & Conflict Resolution: Proven ability to manage diverse teams, mitigate staff burnout, and navigate challenging interpersonal or familial dynamics.
· Documentation & Audit-Readiness: Meticulous attention to detail in auditing digital and physical clinical logs, medication administration records (MARs), and daily service notes.
Qualifications & Experience
· Experience: Minimum of 3 of progressive supervisory or management experience specifically within intellectual and developmental disability (I/DD) services.
· Certifications/Licenses: Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record (mandatory for transporting/traveling to sites).
· Current CPR/First Aid and Medication Administration training certificates (or ability to obtain immediately upon hire).
· Background Check: Must clear all state-mandated criminal background checks, child/adult abuse registry screenings, and drug tests.
