Associate Accounting Manager

About the role

The Associate Accounting Manager supports the Accounting Manager in overseeing the company's accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies. The position assists in ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timely processing of accounting transactions and financial reports while providing guidance and supervision to accounting staff.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in supervising daily accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, cash management, and reconciliations.
• Review accounting entries, supporting documents, and financial transactions for accuracy and completeness.
• Monitor proper recording and classification of company transactions.
• Ensure timely closing of monthly and annual accounting books.
• Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Review schedules and supporting documents for financial statement accounts.
• Analyze variances between actual results and budgets or prior periods.
• Monitor customer receivables and aging reports.
• Review invoices, vouchers, purchase documents, and other supporting documents before processing.
• Review monthly bank reconciliations and investigate outstanding or unreconciled items.

About you

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably with supervisory or leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Knowledge of Philippine taxation and BIR compliance.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting/payroll systems.
• Ability to analyze financial data and identify discrepancies.
• Strong knowledge of internal controls and accounting procedures.
• CPA license is highly preferred.
• Experience in financial reporting, general ledger, reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable, and tax compliance is preferred.
• Experience in a water utility, service-oriented, or similar industry is an advantage.
