What they need
ASSOCIATE ADVISOR
Richland, Washington • Tri-Cities Area
Onsite | Full-Time | Long-Term Growth Opportunity
About the Opportunity
Our client is a well-established independent retirement and insurance planning firm serving clients throughout the Tri-Cities area of Washington. For more than 30 years, the firm has built a highly referral-driven practice centered on trust, long-term relationships, and personalized retirement guidance.
The firm specializes in retirement income planning, fixed and fixed indexed annuities, Medicare planning, long-term care strategies, tax-aware retirement planning, and legacy planning. Unlike many advisory firms that rely heavily on purchased leads, seminars, or outbound prospecting, this practice has developed a multigenerational client base primarily through referrals and long-standing relationships.
This opportunity is ideal for someone who wants to build a long-term career within a growing independent financial planning practice while working directly alongside an experienced founder. The role is designed to evolve into a broader advisory and leadership opportunity, with the potential to become an important part of the firm’s long-term succession plan.
The office is highly client-focused, relationship-driven, and community-oriented. The firm regularly hosts educational workshops, retirement events, and client appreciation gatherings through its in-house education center, creating an engaging environment for clients and team members.
Position Overview
The Associate Advisor will work directly with the founder to support day-to-day client planning, case preparation, application processing, retirement income planning, and ongoing relationship management. This individual will play a critical role in streamlining operations while allowing the founder to spend more time meeting with clients and growing the practice.
This is not a purely back-office position. The ideal candidate will become increasingly client-facing, participate in client meetings and reviews, help manage investment and retirement planning relationships, and grow into a larger advisory role over time.
The firm is seeking someone who is personable, driven, organized, and highly trustworthy. Cultural fit and genuine care for clients are considered just as important as technical experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare retirement income illustrations, annuity proposals, and planning presentations.
- Support holistic retirement planning conversations involving income, taxes, Roth conversions, healthcare, and legacy strategies.
- Assist with fixed and fixed indexed annuity case design and implementation.
- Participate in client meetings and annual reviews.
- Build strong relationships with multigenerational clients.
- Process applications and service paperwork accurately and efficiently.
- Coordinate transfers, rollovers, and in-service rollover paperwork.
- Maintain CRM workflows and documentation within Salesforce / Advisors Command.
- Assist with educational workshops, client appreciation events, and in-house educational programs.
Ideal Candidate Background
- Series 65 license
- Life & Health insurance license
- Experience in financial services, insurance, wealth management, banking, or retirement planning
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to build trust with clients of all ages
- Professional, personable, and relationship-oriented demeanor
- High attention to detail and consistent follow-through
- Experience with retirement planning or annuity products is preferred
- CRM experience, preferably with Salesforce
Technology & Planning Tools
- Salesforce / Advisors Command CRM
- Wealth.com estate planning tools
- Roth conversion and tax-planning software
Why This Opportunity Stands Out
This opportunity offers substantially more long-term growth potential than a traditional associate advisor position. The person joining the team will work directly alongside the founder of an established referral-based practice with more than three decades of client relationships and community presence.
The firm is looking for someone who wants to build a career—not simply fill a job. Over time, the right individual will have the opportunity to become increasingly involved in client relationships, retirement planning, and potentially the future transition and growth of the business.
Unlike many firms where advisors spend most of their time prospecting, this role provides the opportunity to work within an established, referral-driven environment with a strong existing client base and consistent inbound opportunities.
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive base salary
- Performance-based bonus opportunities
- 401(k) with employer match
- Health insurance support/options
- Additional voluntary benefits available
- Long-term career growth opportunity
- Direct mentorship from an experienced founder with more than 30 years in the industry
