What they need
About the Role
Work directly with senior leadership and take ownership of the business, financial, and operations functions for two affiliated organizations: a professional services firm and a nonprofit educational organization. You will use technology, including advanced software tools, automated workflows, and our financial and operational systems, to handle routine work, find patterns, and produce analysis. You will check every output for accuracy and see each decision through to completion. We are a small company, so when something cannot be automated or delegated yet, you will roll up your sleeves and do it yourself.
You do not need deep finance, HR, or insurance expertise on day one. Leadership and your tools supply the subject-matter knowledge, and you will build yours over time. What we need from the start is strong critical thinking, reliable process execution, and the discipline to verify before anything goes out.
What You'll Do
- Serve as leadership's primary analyst, delivering concise summaries, options, and recommendations
- Run and maintain the scheduled reports, dashboards, and templates that do our background work
- Keep financial dashboards, budget-to-actual tracking, and variance analysis current, plus recurring nonprofit reporting such as donor analysis and scholarship compliance
- Manage insurance applications, renewals, and policy records so nothing lapses
- Handle HR administration: onboarding and offboarding, employee records, licenses and certifications, policies, and registrations
- Serve as our point of contact for the outside IT provider and track devices, software, vehicles, and equipment
- Apply a consistent quality-control process, including independent checks, to everything you produce
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in finance, engineering, or a related field
- 3+ years as an operational and financial analyst, including business operations
- Hands-on experience using advanced software tools and automation to get real work done
- Sound judgment on when to automate, delegate, or do it yourself
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through across many kinds of work
- Clear, concise writing and confidence following up with coworkers and vendors
- Discretion and integrity with confidential financial and employee information
- A valid driver's license and a driving record acceptable to our insurance carrier
- Preferred: experience putting new workflows or automations into day-to-day use
What We Offer
- Close mentorship from senior leadership
- Exposure to every side of running two growing organizations
- The chance to help modernize how we work
- Full-time benefits: Paid Time Off, Paid Holidays, Insurance and 401(k)
How to Apply
Send your resume and a brief cover letter describing a process you ran or improved using technology or automation: the tools you used, how you checked the results, and the outcome.
