Associate/ Assistant Director, Information Technology Services Centre

Duties

• The appointee will be responsible for assisting the Director of Information Technology Services Centre (ITSC), for managing the day-to-day operations of the Centre.

• Assist the University's overarching IT strategy, driving innovation and ensuring alignment with long-term objectives.

• Supervise the technology vision, strategy, and execution of digital services platform for operational excellence with continuous improvement.

• Lead, manage, mentor, and develop IT teams; handle workforce planning, performance management, recruitment, and foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement.

• Supervise all aspects of computer operations, ensuring efficient delivery of core operational functions including managing and delivering IT infrastructure, computer systems to fulfill institute's IT strategies and direction.

• Develop, review, and maintain a robust framework of IT policies, controls, and procedures to ensure the availability, confidentiality, and integrity of data across the entire Institution.

• Contribute to budgeting, resource allocation, and financial oversight of IT operations and projects.

• Participate as member in meetings of the respective committees as and when necessary.

• Deputize for the Director of ITSC and perform other duties as assigned.

Appointment Criteria

Applicants should have: (i) preferably with a recognized postgraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related disciplines; (ii) at least 10 years' relevant experience, preferably in a similar position in local/ overseas higher education institutions; at least 4 years of IT experience with significant leadership responsibility (iii) sound technical background, a generalist of IT technologies and also a specialist on core technologies; (iv) strong team and vendor management; (v) good communication and problem solving skills; and (vi) a good command of spoken and written English and Chinese.
