Associate Attorney - Civil Litigation

Primary Responsibilities

• Draft and respond to discovery, including interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission
• Draft pleadings, motions, and supporting memoranda under attorney supervision
• Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on substantive and procedural issues
• Review and analyze documents in connection with active litigation matters
• Attend depositions, hearings, and court appearances as needed
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court staff under attorney supervision
• Potential second chair trial responsibilities

Secondary Responsibilities

• Independently manage assigned civil litigation matters with appropriate oversight
• Develop client relationships and litigation strategy on assigned cases
• Network and develop personal and professional relationships to generate future client base

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
• Active membership in the California State Bar (recently admitted candidates strongly encouraged to apply)
• One to three years of California civil litigation experience
• Strong legal research and writing skills
• Ability to manage competing deadlines with precision and professionalism
• Familiarity with California Rules of Court and Los Angeles Superior Court local rules preferred
• Residence in or proximity to the South Bay/Hermosa Beach area strongly preferred, given the in-office nature of this position

Compensation and Benefits

• Base salary range: $100,000 to $125,000, commensurate with experience
