A growing boutique workers’ compensation defense practice is seeking an attorney to join its team representing employers and insurance carriers throughout New Jersey.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Workers’ Compensation attorney OR a newly barred New Jersey attorney who is eager to learn and build a career in Workers’ Compensation defense.

We offer a collaborative, supportive learning environment with hands-on training, mentorship, and the flexibility of a primarily remote schedule.

What You'll Do

• Manage a caseload of New Jersey Workers’ Compensation matters with appropriate training and support
• Research and analyze legal and factual issues
• Draft pleadings, discovery responses, motions, briefs, and other legal documents
• Develop case strategies and work toward favorable outcomes for clients
• Communicate with clients, courts, witnesses, and opposing counsel
• Prepare for and participate in hearings, trials, and other proceedings
• Conduct legal research and assist with appellate matters
• Participate in team meetings, file reviews, training, and continuing legal education
• Learn and develop expertise in New Jersey Workers’ Compensation defense

What We're Looking For

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Active New Jersey Bar license and in good standing
• Open to newly barred NJ attorneys who are motivated to learn Workers’ Compensation
• 1–10 years of Workers’ Compensation defense experience preferred , but strong newly admitted candidates will be considered
• Excellent research, writing, analytical, and communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage deadlines
• Self-directed, dependable, and collaborative
• Comfortable learning new technology and case management systems

Position Details

Location: Remote

Court: Must be available for in-person court appearances approximately once per month in Southern New Jersey

Experience: Open to newly barred attorneys through experienced Workers’ Compensation attorneys

Internet: High-speed wired internet connection required
