About the Position
The Associate Attorney will work directly with clients on a variety of family-law matters while collaborating with our legal and administrative team.
We are seeking an attorney who is compassionate, professional, organized, and committed to providing thoughtful and effective legal representation to individuals and families.

- Conduct client consultations and maintain consistent communication with clients
- Draft pleadings, motions, declarations, discovery, correspondence, and other legal documents
- Conduct legal research and prepare matters for hearings, mediation, and trial
- Appear in Hawaiʻi Family Court as needed
- Communicate and negotiate with opposing counsel
- Participate in mediation, settlement discussions, hearings, and other proceedings
- Manage an assigned caseload and associated deadlines
- Review and maintain accurate client and case files
- Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and administrative staff
- Provide professional, compassionate, and responsive service to clients
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with all applicable professional and ethical obligations
Qualifications
Required:
- Active license to practice law in the State of Hawaiʻi
- Member in good standing with the Hawaiʻi State Bar
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and professional judgment
- Ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with clients
Preferred:
- Previous family-law experience
- Experience practicing in Hawaiʻi Family Court
- Experience with hearings, mediation, negotiations, or trial preparation
- Ability to independently manage a caseload
- Interest in building a long-term career in family law
