Henness & Haight Injury Law Associate Attorney – Personal Injury (Pre-Litigation)
Starting Salary: $120,000 per year + depending on experience
Location: Las Vegas or our Henderson Office
Job Type: Full-Time
Experience: Entry-Level to Experienced Attorneys
Job Description:
Our respected and successful 26-year Plaintiff’s personal injury law firm is seeking a motivated, hard-working, personable, and client-focused Nevada-licensed attorney to join our pre-litigation team. This is an excellent opportunity for a newly licensed attorney looking to launch a rewarding legal career or an attorney from another practice area interested in transitioning into plaintiff’s personal injury law. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing personal injury cases from the initial client consultation through the negotiation and settlement of claims and handling some litigation through Nevada’s Court-Annexed Arbitration Program.
We are looking for someone who enjoys working directly with people, takes pride in helping injured clients recover, and is eager to develop the skills necessary to become a successful personal injury attorney.
Key Responsibilities:
● New Client Consultations: Meet with prospective clients, evaluate and screen potential personal injury claims, and explain their legal rights and available options.
● Client Education and Retention: Explain the firm’s representation agreement and provide clients with a clear roadmap of the claims process, including what to expect throughout their case.
● Case Management: Take ownership of assigned pre-litigation cases, ensuring they are handled efficiently and professionally from intake through resolution.
● Medical Treatment Coordination: Monitor clients’ medical treatment and recovery, help facilitate appropriate referrals to qualified medical providers, and communicate with providers as needed to ensure clients have access to appropriate care.
● Client Communication: Maintain regular contact with clients, answer questions, provide case updates, and ensure clients feel informed and supported throughout the process.
● Claim Evaluation: Review medical records, bills, insurance coverage, liability issues, and other evidence to evaluate damages and develop settlement strategies.
● Settlement Negotiations: Prepare and present settlement demands, negotiate with insurance adjusters, and work toward achieving favorable resolutions for clients.
● Professional Collaboration: Work closely with the firm’s attorneys, paralegals, case managers, and support staff to provide excellent client service.
Qualifications:
● Active license to practice law in Nevada, in good standing.
● No prior personal injury experience required. Newly licensed attorneys are encouraged to apply.
● Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
● A genuine interest in helping injured people navigate the legal process.
● Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases.
● Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
● A professional, compassionate, and client-service-oriented approach.
● Spanish-speaking ability is a plus, but not required.
Compensation:
● Starting base salary of $120,000 annually.
● Discretionary annual performance bonus.
● Salary is negotiable and may be higher depending on experience and qualifications.
Why Join Our Firm?
This position offers an outstanding opportunity to gain meaningful, hands-on experience in plaintiff’s personal injury law. Unlike positions where junior associates spend much of their time conducting legal research or drafting documents, this role offers immediate opportunities to work directly with clients, evaluate cases, develop negotiation strategies, and resolve claims. You will gain practical experience in all aspects of pre-litigation personal injury practice while developing the professional judgment, client relationships, and negotiating skills that are essential to a successful career in this field.
We welcome applications from both newly admitted attorneys and experienced lawyers who are interested in building a career representing injured people.
If you are motivated, personable, compassionate, and eager to help people while developing a rewarding legal career in a collaborative and team-focused culture, we encourage you to apply.
How to Apply:
Please submit your résumé and a tailored cover letter explaining why you believe you would be a good addition to our Team through Indeed for consideration. If an interview is offered then 3 Professional References will be requested at the conclusion of the successful interview which will be discreetly checked.
