Associate Attorney

A well-established Midwest insurance defense firm is seeking litigation associates to join its Merrillville office, with a primary focus on general liability and transportation litigation .

We're seeking attorneys with 1– 10 years of civil litigation experience .

The firm moves efficiently and is typically able to take candidates from initial conversation to decision within approximately two weeks.

Practice Focus

• Medical malpractice defense
• General liability
• Trucking/commercial transportation litigation
• Civil rights defense
• Insurance defense

Responsibilities

• Draft pleadings, motions and written discovery
• Conduct legal research and motion practice
• Take and defend depositions (experience dependent)
• Attend hearings, mediations and court appearances
• Communicate directly with clients and insurance carriers
• Participate in trial preparation and litigation strategy

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Indiana Bar admission
• 1–10 years of litigation experience
• Strong legal writing and analytical skills
• Insurance defense experience is a plus but not required
