Associate Cashier

Tastefully Philly a family-owned business in areas Newport News, and Williamsburg Virginia. We bring food flavors from the Philadelphia City of ‘Brotherly Love and Sisterly Affection.

What you will do:

• Greet and engage with customers to ensure their needs are met both quickly and courteously.
• Bag food items, make specialty coffees, and beverages maintaining cleaning station.
• Ensure café is well-stocked and refrigerated unit is inviting.
• Help keep café clean and safe by following all established policy, procedures, and guidelines.
• Complete housekeeping duties including cleaning, dusting, sweeping, mopping, emptying trash, and more.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Greet and interact with customers in a polite and friendly manner.
• Take customer’s orders and punch them into the restaurant POS (Point-of-Sale) system.
• Provide customers with information on menu items, ingredients, and prices.
• Process credit card and cash payments and accurately tender change.
• Control, organize, monitor and maintain appropriate levels in cash drawer.
• Handle customer’s requests and concerns.
• Maintain cleanliness and stocking levels of needed supplies in the café.
• Ensure that the café service areas are kept clean, and organized at all times.
• Assist in food portioning and preparation tasks.
• Comply with all established standards, including personal safety, food safety, sanitation, personal hygiene, appearance, and uniform.
• Ability to ensure proper food preparation and presentation including preparing specialized coffees.
• Ability to promote café food specials and additional food options.
• Ability to follow proper health code guidelines.
• The ability to multi-task, perform repeated bending, standing, and reaching, and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Requirements:
• High-school Diploma or GED
• Prior Cash Handling Experience Customer Service Experience
• Lifting up to 50lbs and standing for extended period of time
