Join New Zealand's Leading Executive Search Firm
As one of New Zealand's leading executive search firms, we have spent more than 20 years partnering with boards, CEOs and executive teams to identify and attract exceptional leaders. Our work spans the private, public and not-for-profit sectors, helping organisations make critical leadership appointments that shape the future of business and society.
We're looking for curious, ambitious early-career professionals to join us as an Associate and build their careers at the intersection of business, leadership and executive search.
The Opportunity
This is a unique opportunity to gain exposure to some of New Zealand's most influential leaders and organisations while developing a deep understanding of leadership, talent and business across a diverse range of sectors.
Working closely with experienced consultants and partners, you'll contribute to executive search assignments across a variety of industries, helping clients identify and appoint exceptional executive and board-level talent. You'll develop strong research, analytical and relationship-building skills while gaining insight into how organisations make critical leadership decisions. No two projects are the same, with opportunities to support everything from talent mapping and market analysis through to CEO, executive and board appointments.
Your responsibilities will include conducting market and industry research, identifying and engaging executive leaders, analysing organisations and talent trends, preparing research findings and client material, and collaborating with colleagues, clients and stakeholders across a range of sectors.
About You
We're looking for people who are:
- Curious and eager to learn
- Strong communicators with excellent interpersonal skills
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Able to manage competing priorities and deadlines
- Interested in business, leadership and current affairs
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively
Whether you're a recent graduate or have a few years of professional experience, we're interested in individuals who are motivated to learn, build relationships and develop a strong understanding of business and leadership.
Why Hobson Leavy?
At Hobson Leavy, you'll gain a level of exposure early in your career that is difficult to find elsewhere. You'll engage with senior executives, board directors and business leaders while contributing to projects across a wide range of industries and organisations. The breadth of our executive search work provides a unique opportunity to develop your commercial acumen, research capability and understanding of leadership, organisations and talent markets.
We are committed to helping our people learn and grow through hands-on experience, mentorship, structured development opportunities and a collaborative team environment. Alongside flexible working arrangements and wellbeing initiatives, you'll be part of a team that values curiosity, continuous learning and making a meaningful impact through leadership.
If you're curious about people, leadership and the organisations shaping New Zealand's future, we'd love to hear from you.
