What they need

Job Title: Senior Associate ( CFO and Controllership Advisory )

About the Company

We’re a rapidly growing global professional services firm helping U.S.-based companies manage accounting, controllership, and financial advisory functions with precision and care. Our India operations have scaled quickly over the past few years — driven by our focus on excellence, innovation, and developing great people.

At Exbo, excellence is the standard—but we also enjoy the journey. We’re a high-performance team that values exceptional work, deep respect for our people, and a culture that’s both demanding and genuinely fun. We trust our employees, avoid micromanagement, and reward impact with competitive pay. Exbo is an exclusive club for those who have the goods, want a steep learning curve, and enjoy doing great work with great people.

Exbo Group was founded by a team of investment bankers, consultants, and accountants who came out of a $400M New York–based venture capital fund. Many of the fund’s portfolio companies had visionary CEOs and operators but lacked the financial infrastructure to scale — and needed a partner who could take that off their plate.

What started with helping one company successfully raise a $10M Series A quickly grew into a business that funds and founders across the U.S. turned to for expert support. Today, Exbo Group partners with growth-stage companies and middle-market financial sponsors nationwide, providing high-touch accounting, finance advisory, tax, and transaction services that help businesses grow smarter and stronger.

Role Overview

The Senior Associate – Corporate Advisory will be responsible for performing detailed reviews of monthly financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable accounting standards, and providing Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) support to the US Corporate team.

This role offers exposure to global accounting practices, cross-functional collaboration, and opportunities to contribute to strategic financial analysis and decision-making for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed reviews of monthly closed books of accounts, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to US GAAP and internal policies.
  • Perform variance, trend, and ratio analysis to support management discussions and business insights.
  • Support FP&A functions, including budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting.
  • Collaborate with the US Corporate team to deliver timely and accurate financial reports and performance summaries.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and enhance processes, ensuring efficiency and data integrity.
  • Assist with audit preparations, reconciliations, and documentation as required.
  • Maintain high standards of internal control, compliance, and reporting accuracy.

Qualifications & Skills

  • CA / CPA / MBA (Finance) or equivalent qualification.
  • 2–5 years of post-qualification experience in Accounting, FP&A, or Corporate Finance, preferably in a multinational or professional services environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong analytical abilities; experience with NetSuite, QuickBooks, or similar ERP systems preferred.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to work effectively across global teams.
  • Strong attention to detail, professional integrity, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

What We Offer

  • Opportunity to work in a fast-growing international organization with exposure to global accounting and FP&A practices.
  • A structured career path with mentoring, learning, and leadership opportunities.
  • A supportive work culture that emphasizes collaboration, excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Attractive compensation and performance-based rewards.
  • Focus on employee well-being and a balanced work environment that values both professional and personal growth.

Work Model

This is a full-time position that starts immediately. We maintain a hybrid and flexible work model that balances remote work with in-person collaboration from our Kolkata office.

Working at Exbo Group

Exbo Group has four core values that will inform your experience working here:

People are Paramount: Our people are the most important asset we have, and once great people are found, we give them the trust and autonomy to be the CEO of their role. We want to empower people with information rather than limit them with process.

Client Obsession: Our clients are our lifeblood. We built our business to facilitate their growth and provide financial support in the areas they need most. We work vigorously to earn and keep customer trust to build a long-term relationship.

High Standards: We deliver a premium service to our customers and in return, they expect nothing but excellence. When problems inevitably pop up, they are addressed and fixed immediately. Our relentless focus is on maintaining a high bar for our work so that we can keep clients happy.

Positive Energy: We know positivity and optimism benefit our work, and we harness positive energy as a vehicle toward greater awareness, growth, and collaboration. We believe in cultivating positive relationships within our team and with our clients to make our workplace a fun and inclusive environment to be a part of.
