About the role:

YIMBA Legal & Consulting (YIMBA) is seeking a high-performing lawyer to join our growing Sydney-based team.

This role offers the opportunity to work directly with senior leadership and clients across a diverse range of legal and consulting matters. We are open to candidates with 2–5+ years’ experience including more experienced lawyers seeking greater autonomy, client exposure and involvement in more complex, high-impact matters.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering commercially focused legal advice and consulting services across major projects, government engagements and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander matters.

Key Responsibilities of the role:

·       Deliver high-quality legal and commercial advice across a range of matters

·       Draft, review and negotiate contracts, agreements and project documentation

·       Provide advisory services in construction, infrastructure and commercial contexts

·       Support and manage legal and consulting workstreams (depending on experience)

·       Undertake legal research and prepare concise advice

·       Support project delivery including contract administration and commercial management

·       Contribute to business development, bids and client relationship management

·       Engage with clients, industry stakeholders and community representatives

What you’ll be doing:

·       Supporting in the provision of legal and consulting services to clients

·       Conducting research on legal issues, statutes and regulations

·       Drafting and reviewing contracts, agreements and other legal documents

·       Assisting to manage and develop legal precedents

·       Legal and commercial project management

·       Commercial advisory, contract administration and consulting

·       Assisting with business growth activities including preparation of bids

·       Participating in continuing legal education, knowledge development and training
