What they need
Solicitor – Commercial Litigation, Disputes & Insolvency
2-4 Years PAE | Adelaide CBD | National Law Firm
An outstanding opportunity for an ambitious lawyer to gain hands-on litigation experience, work alongside highly regarded senior practitioners, and accelerate their legal career.
Your People Solutions is pleased to be acting on behalf of our client, a highly regarded national law firm, in the recruitment of a talented Solicitor to join its established Disputes & Insolvency team in Adelaide.
This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career lawyer seeking genuine mentorship, quality work and the chance to develop strong litigation and advocacy skills within a supportive, collaborative environment.
Our client represents an impressive portfolio of private and public sector clients across a broad range of complex commercial disputes, taxation disputes and insolvency matters.
Unlike some junior positions, this role offers meaningful involvement in matters from an early stage, direct access to senior lawyers and Principals, and the opportunity to progressively manage your own files.
The Opportunity
Working closely with experienced Principals and senior practitioners, you will gain exposure to a diverse range of contentious matters, including:
- Commercial litigation and contractual disputes.
- Corporate and personal insolvency matters.
- Taxation disputes and regulatory proceedings.
- Complex commercial and financial disputes.
- Preparing pleadings, affidavits, submissions and court documentation.
- Conducting legal research and developing litigation strategies.
- Briefing and instructing Counsel.
- Attending court hearings, mediations and client conferences.
- Liaising directly with clients, opposing solicitors and other stakeholders.
- Developing your advocacy skills and progressively taking responsibility for your own matters.
You will be encouraged to take an active role in matters while receiving the guidance and support necessary to build your technical expertise and confidence.
About You
We are seeking a motivated and commercially minded Solicitor who is enthusiastic about developing a long-term career in litigation.
Ideally, you will offer:
- 2-4 years' post-admission experience, preferably within commercial litigation, disputes or insolvency.
- Strong drafting, legal research and analytical skills.
- An interest in court work, advocacy and dispute resolution.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive, solutions-focused approach.
- A genuine desire to learn from experienced practitioners and continue developing professionally.
Candidates with a solid foundation in general commercial litigation and an interest in expanding into insolvency and taxation disputes are also encouraged to apply.
Why Consider This Opportunity?
Our client offers the resources, sophisticated matters and career opportunities associated with a national law firm, together with a genuinely supportive and collegiate working environment.
Benefits include:
- Direct mentorship from experienced Principals and senior lawyers.
- Exposure to complex, high-quality litigation and national clients.
- Genuine opportunities for advocacy and court appearances.
- Clear career progression and professional development.
- Flexible working arrangements.
- Realistic billable expectations.
- Formal mentoring and ongoing training.
- Study assistance and professional membership support.
- Generous parental leave and additional employee benefits.
- A positive, collaborative culture where junior lawyers are supported and valued.
This is an opportunity to join a well-established and respected national practice that is committed to investing in its people and developing the next generation of litigation lawyers.
