Associate Consultant – Mechanical & Electrical

Looking to kick-start a career in recruitment? We’re looking for a driven, ambitious Associate Recruitment Consultant to join Franklin Smith and learn the ropes within our Mechanical & Electrical team.

This is an entry-level role, so previous recruitment experience isn’t required. We’ll give you the training, support and tools you need to learn the industry, develop your recruitment and sales skills, and ultimately work towards running your own successful desk.

The role
You’ll work closely with our experienced consultants, supporting the team while learning all sides of recruitment. You’ll get involved in:

• Sourcing and speaking with candidates across the Mechanical & Electrical trades
• Building relationships with candidates and clients
• Advertising roles and identifying great people for our clients
• Supporting consultants with vacancies and placements
• Learning how to develop new business and identify opportunities
• Building your knowledge of the mechanical trades market
• Working towards taking ownership of your own clients and, eventually, your own desk

What we’re looking for

You’ll ideally be someone who:

• Is ambitious, motivated and keen to build a career
• Enjoys talking to people and building relationships
• Has confidence picking up the phone and starting conversations
• Is proactive and willing to put yourself out there
• Is competitive, resilient and motivated by achieving results
• Is keen to learn and comfortable taking feedback

Experience in sales, customer service or the trades would be beneficial, but it’s definitely not essential. If you’ve got the right attitude and work ethic, we can teach you the rest.
