Associate, Development (On-site in Century City, CA)

What we offer

We are looking for an innovative, critical thinker with intellectual curiosity to learn about all aspects of the real estate development business and play a critical role in URW’s process of densifying the existing URW U.S. portfolio. Based in LA, this position will report directly to the SVP, Regional Development. The Associate, Development is a new role and is responsible for assisting with the overall success of URW’s innovative real estate development plans creating better places together to shop, live, work and play. Scope

• Hands on participation in various stages of real estate development and transition into a developer as next step in the career trajectory
• Actively participate and assist with the process of densifying and growing the URW U.S. portfolio and mixed-use pipeline
• Assist in the highest and best use analysis for the existing and future assets
• Assist with all aspects of a development project: financing, entitlement, public relations, design, leasing / marketing and construction, dispositions
• Create financial models, reports and analyses for various development and deal opportunities
• Conduct relevant market research and analysis for the financial models
• Manage consultants and effectively communicate relevant project information to superiors
• Conduct sensitivity analysis for different risk factors in a real estate development process
• Assist in the preparation of approval and presentation packages at various stages of the development process for internal and external purposes
• Prepare monthly and quarterly reports and presentations to keep the senior team apprised of progress
• Some potential field work involving canvassing locations would be required
• Other responsibilities based on team objectives and priorities.

What we are looking for

• Hold a bachelor’s degree in business or related field
• Have 2+ years of professional experience
• Have previous experience working in consulting or in a business/financial analyst role
• Expert level analytical, financial modeling, and presentation skills using MS Excel and PowerPoint
• Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Collaborative, flexible, team player and willing to adapt and form productive relationships with employees in different roles throughout the organization
• Have a positive, entrepreneurial attitude
• Are curious by nature take the initiative to seek out relevant information to develop and implement innovative actions plans
• Have strong organizational and problem-solving skills, ability to work across multiple projects and to coordinate and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
• Have excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, confidence in dealing with all levels of management and can actively drive working sessions with Executives
• Willing to roll up sleeves, jump in and learn about the industry

Compensation

• Exempt
• $94,000 - $139,000 + Discretionary Annual Bonus
