• Sino Group Belt and Road Research Institute (NSBRRI).

The Ng Teng Fong

• Sino Group Belt and Road Research Institute serves as a platform for advancing research, policy analysis, academic collaboration, and knowledge exchange relating to the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and related regional development issues. The Institute seeks an accomplished scholar and academic leader to support its strategic development and contribute to its research excellence and international engagement.

Key Responsibilities The Associate Director will assist the Director and Vice President (Academic and Research) in the leadership and management of the Institute and will:

• Support the development and implementation of the strategic vision and research agenda of the Institute.
• Assist in planning, coordinating, and managing research projects related to the Belt and Road Initiative and associated economic, social, political, and cultural developments.
• Contribute to the supervision and coordination of the Institute's teaching, research, consultancy, and academic activities.
• Review the offering of NSBRRI’s master programmes, as well as the development of MPhil programmes.
• Foster interdisciplinary and collaborative research and teaching within the College and with external partners.
• Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with universities, research institutes, government agencies, professional bodies, and industry partners in Hong Kong, Mainland China, and Belt and Road countries.
• Assist in representing the Institute in external and internal engagements, conferences, forums, and academic networks.
• Support fundraising initiatives, competitive research grant applications, project management, and resource development.
• Contribute to the preparation of reports, performance assessments, and strategic reviews of the Institute.
• Undertake other duties as assigned by the Director and the College.

Requirements Applicants should possess:

• A doctoral degree in a relevant discipline.
• A distinguished record of research and scholarly achievement relevant to the Belt and Road Initiative, international development, regional cooperation, or related areas.
• Substantial experience in research management, academic administration, project leadership, or institutional development.
• Demonstrated ability to secure external research funding and lead collaborative research initiatives.
• Strong leadership, organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English and Chinese (Putonghua and/or Cantonese).
• Experience in building international academic and professional networks.
