Oculus Legal Group is delighted to be partnering with a highly respected Scottish law firm as it looks to appoint an Employment Associate (4+ PQE) to join its team in Glasgow or Edinburgh.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced employment solicitor to join a well-established practice advising a broad client base, including SMEs, larger corporates and public sector organisations. The team handles a varied mix of contentious and non-contentious employment matters, providing commercially focused advice and building long-standing client relationships.

The role offers exposure to high-quality work, the opportunity to take an active role in client relationships and the scope to continue developing professionally within a collaborative and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise employer clients on a broad range of employment law matters, including disciplinary and grievance issues, redundancies, TUPE and employment tribunal proceedings.
• Provide commercially focused advice on both contentious and non-contentious matters.
• Draft and review employment contracts, workplace policies and settlement agreements.
• Manage matters and client relationships, taking responsibility for delivering clear, practical advice.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across other practice areas to support clients' wider business needs.
• Contribute to business development, networking and the continued growth of the practice.

About You

• Scottish-qualified Employment Solicitor with 3+ years' PQE.
• Strong technical experience across a range of contentious and non-contentious employment matters.
• Commercially minded, with the ability to deliver clear and pragmatic advice.
• Confident in managing client relationships and handling matters with an appropriate degree of autonomy.
• A strong communicator who enjoys working collaboratively with colleagues and clients.
• Interested in developing their practice and progressing within a well-regarded Scottish firm.
