Description:

ASG Power, a division of HESCO | Rocky Hill, CT

About the Role

ASG Power is looking for a hands-on, technically driven Associate Engineer to join our growing team in Rocky Hill, Connecticut.

In this role, you’ll work closely with Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, and Quality to support both new product development and existing products. You’ll have the opportunity to work directly with advanced power distribution and industrial control systems, helping take projects from engineering documentation and component selection through manufacturing, testing, troubleshooting, and final acceptance.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys solving technical problems, working in a hands-on manufacturing environment, and seeing the products they help design come to life.

What You'll Do

  • Support the design and manufacturing of advanced power distribution and industrial control systems.
  • Create, maintain, and update electrical schematics, CAD drawings, and related engineering documentation.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics and customer specifications.
  • Specify electrical and control components based on circuit requirements and customer needs.
  • Generate and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Support sourcing of control and power components and work directly with vendors as needed.
  • Troubleshoot instrumentation, AC/DC electrical systems, power systems, sensors, and related technologies.
  • Support system upgrades, retrofits, and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) for existing products.
  • Assist with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).
  • Use electrical test equipment to support troubleshooting, inspection, and validation activities.
  • Partner with Quality on product inspection and testing.
  • Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Quality, vendors, and customers to resolve technical issues.
  • Help develop and maintain manufacturing and quality procedures.

Requirements:

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology; or an Associate's degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience; or 5+ years of relevant experience in place of a degree.
  • Experience with industrial automation, controls, power systems, motor controls, or a related technical field.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills involving instrumentation, AC/DC electrical systems, power systems, sensors, or related technologies.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
  • Experience creating and maintaining electrical schematics; AutoCAD Electrical preferred.
  • Experience with 2D CAD; AutoCAD preferred.
  • Experience with 3D CAD is a plus; Autodesk Inventor preferred.
  • Working knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, servo systems, robotics, industrial sensors, and Ethernet-based controls.
  • Experience with electrical test equipment.
  • Knowledge of sourcing electrical control and power components.
  • Experience generating and maintaining BOMs.
  • Experience working with ERP systems.
  • Experience interacting with vendors and customers.
  • Knowledge of NEC, UL, and NFPA standards.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Why ASG Power?

At ASG Power, you'll work in a collaborative, hands-on environment where Engineering and Manufacturing work closely together to solve real-world technical challenges.

You'll have exposure to multiple areas of the engineering and manufacturing process—from design and component selection to troubleshooting, testing, and production—while contributing to power distribution and industrial control solutions for our customers.

We're looking for someone who is curious, technically capable, willing to learn, and excited about growing their engineering experience as part of a collaborative team.

Equal Opportunity Employer
