Job Description Associate Engineer

Mission / Role Purpose

The goal is to assemble, inspect, and test Epiroc products safely, efficiently, and to a high standard, while consistently achieving production, quality, and delivery objectives.

Safety & Compliance Responsibilities

• Adhere strictly to all plant Safety Standards and Safety, Health, Environment & Quality (SHEQ) procedures.
• Always ensure a safe and secure work environment.
• Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follow lockout/tagout and machine safety protocols.
• Report unsafe conditions, near misses, and incidents immediately.
• Ensure compliance with Epiroc Way and audit requirements.

Assembly Responsibilities

• Assemble components of Epiroc products as per work instructions.
• Conduct visual inspection and functional validation.
• Perform testing of assembled units and document results.
• Support troubleshooting and rework when defects are identified.

Production & Quality Responsibilities

• Achieve monthly production, quality, and delivery efficiency targets.
• Support Production KPIs and Lean Manufacturing strategies.
• Maintain 5S in the work area and follow standardized work instructions.
• Participate actively in Kaizen, costreduction, delivery accuracy improvements, and leadtime reduction initiatives.

New Product Development & Testing

• Support assembly and testing activities for new product development.
• Participate in prototype builds when required.
• Provide assembly feedback for engineering for design and manufacturability improvements.

Experience Requirements

• 3-7 years’ experience in production or assembly line operations.
• Exposure to Hydraulics, PLC basics, and MS Office is an advantage.
• Handson understanding of 5S, Kaizen, and safety practices.
• Strong knowledge of Epiroc Product Assembly preferred.

Educational Requirements

• Diploma in Mechanical / Production / Automobile / Mechatronics Engineering.
• Diploma in Electrical/Electronics/Mechatronics Engineering.

Personality Requirements

• Good communicator and strong team player.
• Customeroriented, proactive, and capable of meeting deadlines.
• Analytical, methodical, selfdriven, and able to work independently.
