About the role

MRDI is inviting a capable and high-calibre professional to join the team as Engineer, WAT, responsible for wafer acceptance test (WAT) equipment operation, process development, and test data analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Responsible for maintenance, preventive servicing, and calibration of WAT equipment.
• Responsible for installation, setup, debugging, and process development of WAT equipment.
• Perform daily WAT test operations (hands on, on-tool) to ensure testing is executed as scheduled.
• Develop, maintain, and optimise test programmes to improve test stability and efficiency.
• Perform data consolidation, archiving, and preliminary analysis of WAT test results.
• Support yield analysis, troubleshooting, and root cause investigation of test-related issues.
• Work across equipment, test operations, and process integration to drive issue resolution and continuous improvement.
• Maintain 6S workplace organisation and manage tools and spare parts in the WAT area.
• Assist in executing engineering test requests and special experiments.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including SOPs, test reports, and procurement-related documents.

Job Requirement

• Bachelor's degree or above in Microelectronics, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineer or related engineering disciplines.
• Candidates with hands-on project experience are preferred, such as capstone projects, course projects, or research work involving circuit design, microcontroller systems, embedded systems, automation control, IC testing or related applications.
• Basic knowledge of electronic circuits is preferred. Familiarity with common laboratory and test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, digital multimetres, and power supplies, is an advantage.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with Excel, Python, MATLAB, or other data analysis tools is preferred.
• Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively across different functional teams.
• Willing to work in a cleanroom environment.
