Description

HCMP is a Seattle-based law firm of nearly 50 attorneys whose core practices focus on representing and advising Pacific Northwest companies. We have earned a reputation as a leading firm, with consistent recognition by distinguished industry lists and awards and annual ranking by U.S. News – Best Lawyers® as a "Best Law Firm." Our Banking, Public Finance, and Real Estate practices are consistently ranked among top practice areas in the U.S. News – Best Lawyers® Best Law Firms list. Environmental team is ranked by Chambers and recognized by Best Lawyers as a Regional Tier 1 Seattle Environmental firm

In this role, you will cover a broad range of upland and aquatic cleanups, redevelopment and construction projects, purchase and sale of contaminated and brownfield properties, natural resource damage claims, Clean Water Act litigation, and complex cost allocation matters. Clients include large national corporations, small local companies, public entities, and individuals.

The ideal candidate will have a depth of experience in sophisticated transactional, regulatory, and litigation matters involving contaminated properties and the application of the Washington Model Toxics Control Act (MTCA) and the federal Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA). Experience with, or demonstrable interest in, environmental insurance claims, cost recovery litigation, and allocation of environmental liabilities, along with a willingness to take on a diverse range of fast-paced environmental matters, are necessary components of this role.

Requirements

Exceptional client service, self-motivation, teamwork, creativity, and close attention to detail are critical for this role. The ideal candidate will have two to six years of experience in environmental practice. Candidates should be licensed to practice in Washington.
