Associate Lawyer

About the Role

Masangcay Renegado and Partners Law Offices' is seeking a highly competent, motivated, and results-oriented Associate Lawyer to join our dynamic team in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City, Metro Manila.

The successful candidate will provide legal support and representation across the Firm's Litigation, Maritime, Labor, Tax, and Corporate Practice Groups. The Associate Lawyer will work closely with the Firm's Partners and senior associates in handling cases, advising clients, preparing legal documents, and developing effective legal strategies.

What you'll be doing

• Assisting in the drafting of legal documents, including pleadings, contracts, agreements, and other court filings
• Attending hearings in courts and quasi-judicial bodies and participating in client meetings and negotiations
• Assisting in the handling of BIR tax assessments cases, from the BIR level up to the Court of Tax Appeals
• Collaborating with senior lawyers and partners to develop effective litigation strategies and case management plans
• Conducting comprehensive legal research and monitoring relevant laws, jurisprudence, rules, regulations, and government issuances
• Staying up-to-date with the latest legal developments and regulations within the Litigation practice area
• Providing exceptional client service and fostering strong client relationships

What we're looking for

• Juris Doctor degree or equivalent law qualification
• Active license to practice law in the Philippines is required at the time of application
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a litigation OR tax and corporate practice
• Demonstrable experience in criminal defense, corporate litigation, or civil litigation is greatly preferred
• Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to effectively present complex legal concepts
• Keen attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
• A proactive and collaborative approach to teamwork
• Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and court procedures within the Litigation practice area
