About the Role

Bajaj Finserv is looking for a strong AI/ML Engineer to build, develop, and optimize enterprise-scale AI-powered search, recommendation, ranking, and knowledge retrieval systems.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in Python, Machine Learning, NLP, Large Language Models (LLMs), RAG, embeddings, semantic search, and production-grade AI/ML applications. The candidate should be comfortable taking AI solutions from proof of concept through development and production deployment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize enterprise-wide AI/ML-powered search systems and models.
• Design and implement algorithms to improve indexing, query relevance, ranking, and search accuracy.
• Build semantic search, recommendation, personalization, and knowledge retrieval solutions.
• Develop RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) applications using embeddings, vector search, chunking, indexing, and semantic retrieval.
• Work on NLP, text classification, document understanding, recommendation systems, and other language-based AI use cases.
• Support taxonomy, ontology, and metadata model development to improve search and discovery.
• Analyze user behavior, search patterns, system metrics, and model performance to improve AI solutions.
• Build, test, deploy, and maintain production-grade machine learning models and AI applications.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, Business, and Design teams to deliver integrated AI solutions.
• Work with business units across Loans, Insurance, and Investments to develop AI-enabled solutions.
• Participate in AI/ML proof-of-concept initiatives and experimentation.
• Follow software engineering best practices including Git, CI/CD, testing, monitoring, and production deployment.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and developments in Generative AI, LLMs, NLP, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning.

Mandatory Skills and Experience

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, Applied AI, NLP, Deep Learning, or Generative AI.
• Strong hands-on programming experience in Python.
• Strong knowledge of SQL, data analysis, feature engineering, and machine learning model development.
• Experience with Machine Learning and Deep Learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras, Scikit-learn, or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience with one or more of the following:
• Natural Language Processing (NLP)
• Embeddings
• Semantic Search
• Text Classification
• Document Understanding
• Recommendation Systems
• Information Retrieval
• Strong hands-on experience working with Large Language Models (LLMs), including GPT, Llama, Mistral, Claude, Gemini, Phi, or similar foundation models.
• Hands-on experience building or implementing RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) systems.
• Experience with vector search, knowledge retrieval, embeddings, chunking, indexing, and semantic retrieval.
• Experience working with Git, CI/CD practices, production environments, and scalable AI/ML systems.
• Strong understanding of software engineering practices for production-grade ML applications.
• B.Tech or M.Tech , preferably IITs, NITs, or BITS.
• Candidate age should be below 28 years.
• Compensation structure will be 75% fixed and 25% variable, as per company policy.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with MLFlow, Kubeflow, Airflow, Prefect, or similar MLOps platforms.
• Experience with Feature Stores and Model Registry.
• Knowledge of MLOps and LLMOps frameworks.
• Experience working with Vector Databases.
• Experience with Apache Spark or PySpark.
• Exposure to distributed machine learning pipelines and large-scale data processing.
• Experience with real-time machine learning systems.
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, GCP, or other cloud platforms.
• Knowledge of cloud-native AI deployments and scalable ML architecture.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a strong AI/ML Engineer with a combination of software engineering and machine learning expertise. The candidate should have practical experience in NLP, LLMs, Generative AI, RAG, semantic search, embeddings, and production-grade ML systems.

The candidate should be capable of taking AI/ML solutions from proof of concept to production while working effectively with cross-functional teams and solving complex business problems at enterprise scale.

Pay: ₹1,900,000.00 - ₹3,000,000.00 per year
