Associate Lecturer: Psychology

About the role

The appointed lecturer will be expected to teach one or more of the following subjects: Introductory Psychology: People and Culture, Psychological Research Methods, Psychological Research in Practice, Psychological Health and Illness, Psychological Assessment, Psychological Interventions, Social Psychology, and Scientific Foundations of Psychology.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures, tutorials, workshops, and other learning activities as required.
• Assess student work and provide timely, constructive feedback.
• Administer tests, quizzes, and examinations where required.
• Participate in moderation and academic quality assurance processes.
• Provide academic consultation and support to students.
• Monitor student progress and identify students requiring additional learning support.
• Participate in professional development and pedagogical training activities.
• Contribute to the review, development, and enhancement of curriculum, learning materials, and assessments.
• Support programme-related academic and administrative activities.
• Be available to teach daytime and/or evening classes.

Job Requirements

• A Master's degree or PhD in Psychology or a closely related discipline from a recognised institution.
• Teaching and/or professional experience in psychology or a related field, preferably in higher education.
• Ability to teach effectively in face-to-face, blended, and online learning environments.
• Experience using learning management systems (LMS) and other educational technologies.
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students from diverse backgrounds.
• Experience in curriculum development, assessment design, or innovative teaching practices will be an advantage.
