ASSOCIATE MANAGER, QUALITY

About the Role

Our client, a reputable manufacturing organisation, is looking for an experienced and results-driven Quality professional to join its team as an Associate Manager, Quality.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Quality Assurance, Quality Control, GMP/cGMP compliance, and regulatory requirements. This role offers an opportunity to lead the site's Quality Management System, strengthen quality standards, and ensure that manufacturing processes and products consistently meet established regulatory and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the site's Quality Management System (QMS).
• Oversee Quality Assurance activities and provide governance and oversight for Quality Control operations.
• Ensure compliance with GMP/cGMP requirements, applicable regulations, and established quality standards.
• Manage corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), deviations, investigations, root cause analysis, and change control processes.
• Coordinate audit and inspection readiness for NAFDAC, PCN, ISO, and internal or corporate audits, as applicable.
• Provide oversight for validation, qualification, and product stability programmes.
• Monitor QC laboratory activities, data integrity, and out-of-specification (OOS) investigations.
• Ensure effective quality controls for raw materials, packaging materials, and finished products.
• Oversee product release and disposition, as well as Annual Product Quality Reviews (APQR) and Product Quality Reviews (PQR).
• Develop and mentor Quality personnel while building a strong culture of quality and compliance.
• Work closely with Manufacturing, Regulatory Affairs, and other departments to improve processes and maintain product quality.

Requirements and Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Engineering, or another relevant scientific or technical discipline.
• 7–10 years of progressive experience in Quality Assurance and/or Quality Control within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge and practical experience in GMP/cGMP compliance or other highly regulated industries.
• Demonstrated experience in CAPA, deviation management, investigations, change control, validation, and audit preparation.
• Previous experience leading Quality teams, activities, or management systems.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.

Additional Advantage

Experience in pharmaceutical or over-the-counter (OTC) product manufacturing, NAFDAC or PCN inspections, QC laboratory management, APQR/PQR, supplier quality management, and validation programmes will be an added advantage.
