This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative merchandising team and contribute to financial and inventory planning for a growing e-commerce business.

You’ll support both pre-season and in-season planning, using sales and category performance data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.

The role offers strong exposure to retail planning, forecasting, financial analysis, and cross-functional decision-making.

As part of a remote team, you’ll have the opportunity to build your planning expertise while working in a fast-paced and supportive environment.

This position is particularly well suited to an analytical, curious professional looking to grow a career in merchandise planning.

Accountabilities

  • Create and manage pre-season and in-season financial plans for an assigned product group, helping establish sales, margin, and inventory expectations.
  • Monitor product performance against financial plans, analyzing sales, gross margin, inventory levels, seasonality, trends, and brand performance to identify risks and growth opportunities.

  • Contribute to seasonal merchandise strategies designed to maximize sales, maintain product availability, optimize inventory flow, and anticipate future merchandise needs.
  • Partner with Category Managers to develop pre-season strategies that connect product opportunities with financial targets and business priorities.
  • Prepare and present product and financial analyses for weekly business reviews and monthly planning discussions, communicating insights that help shape forward-looking strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to support effective merchandise flow and the achievement of financial objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Merchandising, Operations, or a related field.
  • 1–2 years of experience in merchandise planning, demand planning, replenishment, financial planning, or a related analytical discipline.
  • Strong numerical and analytical abilities, with a foundational understanding of retail mathematics, financial planning, and forecasting methodologies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with the ability to organize, analyze, and communicate data effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues across multiple functions.
  • Excellent organization and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize competing responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Curiosity, adaptability, and a willingness to learn new planning techniques, systems, and business processes.
  • Exposure to merchandise planning platforms such as RELEX is preferred.
  • Ability to work remotely from an approved U.S. state and maintain a professional, distraction-free home working environment.
  • Must be legally authorized to work full-time in the United States without employment visa sponsorship.

  • Remote work: Fully remote position with time-zone flexibility, Monday through Friday, generally 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Travel: Travel to the Melville, NY headquarters approximately three times per year for internal meetings and team-building activities, with reasonable and necessary travel expenses reimbursed.
