Associate, Operational Risk

About the role

Report to the Head of Risk Management, and work with Senior team member on Operational Risk Management tasks and projects.

Key responsibilities

• Support operational risk management by leveraging various tools, including Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA), and loss data collection and reporting.
• Assist in operational risk incident investigations, root cause analysis, and thematic reviews to identify internal control weaknesses, recommend rectification actions, and track completion status.
• Assist in the development, review, and enhancement of operational risk policies and procedures.
• Support the enhancement and maintenance of the firm's Business Continuity Plan (BCP), including coordinating BCP drills.
• Participate in new product/business initiatives and liaise with stakeholders in the Hong Kong office and Head Office to conduct operational risk assessments for new businesses and products.

About you

• Degree holder of above in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science or a related discipline.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience in operational risk management, internal control, or audit within banking or financial services; knowledge of IT risk and Cyber Security risk is an advantage.
• Holder of relevant professional qualification (FRM/CFA) would be an advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good inter-personal and communication skills.
• Proficient in written and spoken English and Chinese, including Mandarin/Putonghua.
