Associate Pastor

Position Purpose

The Associate Pastor: Preaching & Teaching serves alongside the Senior Pastor in advancing the vision and mission of Living Hope Christian Church*,* through biblical preaching, Christ-centred teaching, evangelism, discipleship, pastoral care, and leadership development, this pastor equips God's people to follow Jesus, grow in spiritual maturity, live on mission every day, and make disciple-makers.

Key Responsibilities

1. Preaching & Teaching

● Preach biblically faithful and Christ-centred sermons as assigned (minimum two Sundays per month).

● Teach Bible studies, discipleship classes, and leadership training.

● Assist in sermon planning and teaching resources.

2. Evangelism & Discipleship

● Lead and support outreach initiatives that help people find their way back to God.

● Equip members to share their faith and disciple others.

● Strengthen and multiply Life Groups through leadership development and mentoring.

3. Pastoral Care

● Provide biblical counselling, prayer, visitation, and spiritual encouragement.

● Assist with baptisms, communion, weddings, funerals, and other pastoral ministries as assigned.

4. Ministry Leadership

● Support the vision and leadership of the Senior Pastor.

● Develop volunteers and emerging leaders.

● Participate in staff meetings, ministry planning, and church-wide events.

● Perform other pastoral duties consistent with the mission and ministry of Living Hope Christian Church.

Qualifications

● A mature follower of Jesus Christ with a clear calling to pastoral ministry.

● Agreement with the Statement of Faith, mission, vision, and values of Living Hope Christian Church.

● Demonstrated ability to preach, teach, evangelize, and disciple others.

● Strong leadership, communication, and relational skills.

● Formal biblical training and previous pastoral ministry experience are preferred.

● Minimum requirement be a B.A./B.S. in Pastoral Ministry, Biblical Studies, or Christian Ministry

● Work collaboratively with the Senior Pastor, staff, Board, and ministry leaders.

● Demonstrate a heart for evangelism, discipleship, servant leadership, and the spiritual growth of the church.

● To work in cooperation with our district and national organization, BCBC and BGC.

Pay: $40,000.00-$71,400.00 per year

• New Westminster, BC V3L 3A9: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
