Associate Product Manager

AECO Energy | Lead the Energy Transition in the Philippines

Reports to: Product Manager

Department: Marketing

Functional Support: Product, Technology, Operations, Commercial, Sales, and Customer-Facing Teams

Type: Full-time, Hybrid

THE OPPORTUNITY

Help build products that make energy decisions smarter.

AECO Energy is looking for an Associate Product Manager to join our growing Product team in the Philippines. This is an exciting opportunity to build your Product Management career at the intersection of customer needs, technology, data, and business strategy.

You will work closely with the Product Manager and cross-functional teams to take products and features from idea to delivery and continuous improvement. Your responsibilities will include translating customer and business needs into product requirements, managing the product backlog, writing user stories and acceptance criteria, supporting releases, analyzing product performance, and identifying opportunities for improvement.

This is not a purely administrative product role. Your work will directly influence what we build, how we build it, and how customers experience our products. You’ll gain hands-on exposure to the full product lifecycle from understanding customer problems and validating ideas to development, testing, release, adoption, and continuous improvement.

If you’re curious, customer-focused, and passionate about using technology to solve real business problems, this could be the opportunity for you.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Help Build and Improve Products

  • Support the Product Manager across the product lifecycle—from discovery and planning to development, launch, and improvement.
  • Translate customer and business needs into clear product requirements.
  • Gather customer feedback, research market trends, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Support product roadmap planning and feature prioritization.
  • Help improve product usability, customer experience, and business value.

Own and Manage the Product Backlog

  • Maintain and organize the product backlog with the Product Manager and stakeholders.
  • Help prioritize features, enhancements, bugs, and technical improvements based on customer value and business priorities.
  • Write clear and actionable user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Ensure backlog items are ready for development and regularly updated.

Partner with Technology and Cross-Functional Teams

  • Collaborate with Product, Technology, Developers, Designers, QA, Operations, Sales, Commercial, and other teams.
  • Participate in Agile activities such as sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Clarify requirements, coordinate dependencies, and help resolve delivery issues.
  • Work with QA and Technology to ensure features meet agreed requirements.

Support Product Releases and Launches

  • Support planning and coordination of product and feature releases.
  • Assist with testing, release documentation, communications, and launch activities.
  • Monitor new releases, gather feedback, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Support product demonstrations, training, and internal product materials when needed.

Use Data and Customer Insights to Drive Decisions

  • Monitor product usage, adoption, performance, and customer feedback.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, issues, and improvement opportunities.
  • Prepare reports, dashboards, and insights to support product decisions.
  • Help track key product success metrics.

Conduct Market and Customer Research

  • Research customer needs, market trends, competitors, and emerging technologies.
  • Identify customer pain points and potential product opportunities.
  • Support evaluation of new product ideas and features.

Improve Product Processes

  • Identify ways to improve product workflows, documentation, communication, and delivery.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement across Product and Technology teams.
  • Take ownership of assigned product initiatives and follow them through to completion.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

You don’t need extensive Product Management experience. What matters is your ability to understand problems, ask the right questions, communicate clearly, work with different teams, and turn ideas into practical solutions. You may come from Product Management, Business Analysis, Project Management, Technology, Customer Experience, Operations, Consulting, or a similar background.

Your Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, IT, Engineering, Marketing, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • Experience in Product Management, Business Analysis, Project Management, Technology, Operations, Customer Experience, or a related role.
  • Strong interest in digital products, technology, and solving customer and business problems.
  • Basic understanding of product or software development lifecycles.
  • Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work with both technical and non-technical teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a strong sense of ownership.

Your Product Toolkit:

  • Experience writing user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Understanding of product backlogs and Agile ceremonies.
  • Ability to analyze data and turn insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Exposure to customer, market, or competitor research.
  • Familiarity with product discovery, roadmap planning, or feature prioritization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence, Notion, Miro, Figma, or similar platforms is an advantage.
  • Basic understanding of software, APIs, web technologies, or system integrations is an advantage.

Preferred Experience:

These are nice-to-have, but not required:

  • Experience supporting digital, SaaS, web, mobile, or software products.
  • Experience working in an Agile Product or Technology environment.
  • Exposure to product roadmap planning, feature prioritization, or product analytics.
  • Experience with customer research, usability testing, or competitor analysis.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams such as Product, Technology, Operations, Sales, or Customer Experience.
