Role Mission/Summary:

Help deliver electrical construction projects while building the skills to become a Project Manager. Depending on your experience, you may shadow a Project Manager, own parts of a larger project, or manage small jobs under supervision. The Project Director sets your assignments, priorities, and level of responsibility.

Your responsibilities:

Prepare change orders. Gather scope, labor, material, and schedule information; prepare pricing and supporting records for review; and follow changes through approval and project updates.

Coordinate schedules. Work with field leaders, vendors, and the Project Manager to track upcoming work, materials, and deadlines. Identify obstacles early and follow through on agreed actions.

Manage assigned small jobs. Coordinate planning, execution, costs, customer communication, and closeout with oversight from the Project Director or designated Project Manager.

Understand project costs. Help track budgets, actual costs, commitments, and remaining work. Prepare forecast inputs and bring questions or variances to your supervisor.

Keep work moving. Coordinate materials, requests for information, submittals, and field questions. Work with the Project Coordinator on records and data entry; check the accuracy of the project content you provide.

Communicate and follow through. Keep commitments, raise problems early, and ask for decisions when needed. Bring a proposed next step when you can, and apply feedback to your work.

Decisions and Support:

You coordinate and make routine decisions within your agreed assignment. Obtain approval before making commitments that change scope, price, budget, or completion dates, or approving spending beyond your stated limits. Field leaders direct crews; the Coordinator supports administrative work and data entry.

The Project Director is responsible for your priorities, performance review, and development. The Project Director or designated Project Manager provides coaching, reviews your work, and clarifies what you can decide independently. Raise safety or quality concerns promptly to the appropriate leader.

What you bring:

Relevant experience in construction, field work, estimating, project coordination, or project management—or relevant education with practical project experience. Strong project-management experience from another industry may qualify. Electrical construction experience is preferred; a specific degree is not required.

You need organization, follow-through, clear communication, comfort with numbers and software, and willingness to learn electrical construction. Work includes office and jobsite assignments, with travel or schedule adjustments as projects require.

Early Success and Growth:

During the first 90 days, focus on change-order preparation, schedule coordination, and supervised small-job responsibilities appropriate to your experience. Success means accurate work, reliable follow-through, early communication of problems, and steady improvement. The PD will agree on specific goals with you. This role is intended to develop toward PM responsibility; advancement depends on demonstrated readiness and available opportunities.
