Morgan McKinley is partnering with a leading global financial institution looking to strengthen its Corporate Banking / FIG coverage team in Tokyo.

About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a banking professional with strong credit analysis and client coverage experience to join an international platform and work closely with senior relationship bankers and product specialists across Corporate Banking, Transaction Banking, Markets and Investment Banking.

The Role

You will support the management and development of key client relationships while gaining broad exposure across the bank's global product platform.

Responsibilities

• Key responsibilities will include:
• Supporting senior bankers in managing and deepening client relationships
• Identifying client needs and supporting cross-selling opportunities across Corporate Banking, Transaction Banking, Markets and Capital Markets
• Coordinating opportunities across lending, cash management, FX, DCM, derivatives and other banking products
• Conducting financial and credit analysis and preparing credit applications and internal approval materials
• Supporting annual reviews and ongoing portfolio monitoring
• Analysing financial statements, business performance, strategic plans and forecasts
• Working closely with Credit, Risk, product specialists and regional teams on transaction structuring and execution
• Monitoring client, market and industry developments to identify potential opportunities and risks
• These responsibilities reflect the broad coverage and credit responsibilities outlined in the original mandate.

Qualifications

Ideal Background

• Background in Corporate Banking, Relationship Management, Credit Analysis, Investment Banking or related financial services
• Strong corporate credit and financial analysis skills
• Experience preparing credit applications and internal approval materials
• Good knowledge of lending and broader corporate banking products
• Experience working with multiple product and internal stakeholder teams
• Strong communication, analytical and organisational skills
• Experience with an international bank or major Japanese financial institution would be advantageous.
• Exposure to Transaction Banking, Markets, DCM or derivatives would also be highly relevant.

Required Skills

• Strong corporate credit and financial analysis skills
• Experience preparing credit applications and internal approval materials
• Good knowledge of lending and broader corporate banking products
• Experience working with multiple product and internal stakeholder teams
• Strong communication, analytical and organisational skills
• Native/Close-to-Native-level Japanese preferred
• Business-level English preferred

Preferred Skills

• Experience with an international bank or major Japanese financial institution would be advantageous.
• Exposure to Transaction Banking, Markets, DCM or derivatives would also be highly relevant.
