Project Support Services (PSS) is seeking an experienced Associate Scheduler to support the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) Facilities Services Division.

This position plays an important role in supporting LAUSD’s construction program by reviewing, analyzing, and monitoring contractor construction schedules for multiple projects. The Associate Scheduler will evaluate Primavera P6 baseline schedules and monthly updates, identify critical path and milestone concerns, review schedule logic and cost loading, and provide clear technical schedule analysis to project teams.

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented construction scheduling professional with strong Primavera P6 capabilities and experience supporting an owner, general contractor, public works program, educational facilities program, or other multi-project construction environment.

Position Overview

The Associate Scheduler supports LAUSD project and scheduling teams by performing technical reviews of contractor-submitted Primavera P6 construction schedules.

This individual will review baseline and monthly schedule submissions for completeness, scope, logic, milestones, critical path, cost loading, and compliance with scheduling requirements. The Associate Scheduler will also create P6 filters, layouts, reports, and schedule analyses that help project teams identify potential delays and understand overall project schedule performance.

The position requires a combination of technical scheduling knowledge, construction-document interpretation, analytical ability, and strong written communication skills.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Review contractor Primavera P6 initial baseline construction schedules.
  • Identify missing scope, schedule logic, milestones, and other potential scheduling concerns.
  • Identify and analyze the critical path for construction projects.
  • Review required cost loading within contractor schedules.
  • Prepare clear written technical schedule-review comments using established LAUSD review templates.
  • Review multiple contractor P6 monthly schedule updates.
  • Identify and document milestone slippage, critical path activity slippage, and other schedule-performance concerns.
  • Perform overall schedule analysis and communicate findings to project and scheduling teams.
  • Create activity filters, layouts, and bar charts using Primavera P6 to assist project teams with analyzing construction schedule issues.
  • Perform QA/QC reviews of contractor schedule submittals for compliance with contract scope, terms, and scheduling requirements.
  • Review P6 program schedules and validate schedule logic ties.
  • Verify contractor schedules conform with applicable scheduling guidelines for various project types.
  • Support proper use of program-level standard codes, layouts, and reports to maintain schedule-data integrity.
  • Create Earned Value Curves in accordance with LAUSD EVA template guidelines.
  • Prepare scheduling reports and other schedule-related documentation as needed.
  • Assist scheduling management with project and program reporting.
  • Coordinate effectively with project teams, contractors, scheduling management, and department staff.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
