Associate Software Engineer

We are looking for CS graduating seniors for this role

As a Graduate / Associate Software Engineer, you will work on real-world software applications, strengthen your programming fundamentals, and grow under the mentorship of experienced engineers. This role is ideal for candidates eager to transition into professional software engineering and accelerate their learning journey.

Key Responsibilities

Product & Problem Understanding

• Work with senior engineers, product team members and clients to understand each feature's problem, its users and its business goal.
• Ask questions to clear up unclear requirements before writing code.
• Break features into small, well-defined tasks with clear acceptance criteria.
• Think through user flows and edge cases, flag UX issues, and suggest simpler alternatives.
• After a release, check whether the feature did what it was meant to do, using usage data, errors and user feedback.

Engineering & Delivery

• Build and maintain features across the frontend, backend and APIs, under the guidance of senior developers.
• Write clean, readable, tested code that follows team standards.
• Debug and fix issues in development and production.
• Take part in code reviews, both giving and receiving feedback.
• Ship changes through Git-based workflows, pull requests and CI/CD pipelines.

AI-Assisted Development

• Ability to use AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot) and agentic workflows to plan, build, test and document features.
• Ability to turn client domain knowledge into reusable AI context.
• Ability to design multi-step agent workflows with clear roles, handoffs, tool access and human review points.
• Ability to test and refine skills and agents against real project scenarios.
• Ability to keep AI usage cost-efficient.
• Ability to review, test and fully understand AI output before it ships.

Collaboration

• Communicate progress and blockers early and clearly.
• Explain technical trade-offs in plain language to non-technical stakeholders.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline (graduating in 2026 is fine).
• Working knowledge of at least one of JavaScript/TypeScript, Python or C#.
• Understanding of how a web application fits together: frontend, backend, REST APIs and database.
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL or MongoDB.
• Comfortable with Git: branching, commits, pull requests and resolving merge conflicts.
• Familiarity with the SDLC: planning, building, testing and releasing.
• Has used AI coding tools on real projects.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to explain your reasoning clearly.
• Interest in users and business outcomes.

Nice to Have

• Experience with React/Next.js, Node.js, Django/FastAPI or .NET.
• Basic exposure to Docker, cloud platforms or CI/CD.
• Projects you've shipped that you can walk us through.
