Associate Solicitor

An excellent opportunity has arisen for two Defendant Insurance Lawyers at Associate and Senior Associate level to join a highly regarded national law firm with an established reputation in insurance litigation.

The firm acts for major insurers, underwriting agencies and corporate clients, advising on complex liability claims and contentious insurance matters.

These opportunities will appeal to lawyers seeking quality defendant liability work, strong client relationships and genuine career progression within a collaborative and supportive insurance practice.

With vacancies at both Associate and Senior Associate level, the firm is looking to appoint lawyers who can contribute to an established practice while continuing to develop their technical expertise, commercial judgement and client management skills.

The Opportunity

You will work closely with experienced insurance practitioners on a broad range of defendant liability matters.

Depending on your experience, your work may include:

• Public and occupiers' liability claims;
• Product liability and personal injury litigation;
• General liability and negligence disputes;
• Complex liability and quantum assessments;
• Advising insurers and insured clients on claims strategy;
• Managing litigated and non-litigated claims;
• Drafting pleadings, evidence and court documents;
• Briefing counsel and preparing matters for hearings;
• Negotiations, mediations and settlement conferences; and
• Providing strategic and commercially focused advice on liability exposure and dispute resolution.

You will have the opportunity to manage matters from initial instructions through to resolution, working directly with clients and senior practitioners.

About You

We are interested in speaking with experienced Defendant Insurance Lawyers at Associate and Senior Associate level .

Ideally, you will have:

• Experience in defendant liability insurance litigation;
• Exposure to public liability, personal injury, product liability or broader negligence claims;
• Strong litigation, drafting and analytical skills;
• Experience advising on liability, quantum and claims strategy;
• Sound commercial judgement and a practical approach to dispute resolution;
• Excellent communication and client relationship skills; and
• A collaborative attitude and genuine interest in developing your insurance litigation career.

Associate Level

You will have developed a solid foundation in defendant insurance litigation and be ready to take greater responsibility for managing matters, advising clients and contributing to litigation strategy.

Senior Associate Level

You will bring more substantial defendant liability experience, with the confidence to manage complex matters, maintain direct insurer relationships, supervise junior lawyers and contribute to the ongoing development of the practice.

Lawyers with relevant experience in plaintiff personal injury litigation who are interested in transitioning into defendant insurance work may also be considered.
