Role Summary

The Trade Processing Manager is responsible for managing end-to-end trade processing, custody operations, exchange settlements, billing, regulatory reporting, reconciliations, and operational controls across Equity, Currency, Commodity, Custody segments. The role ensures seamless execution of post-trade activities, regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, stakeholder management, process automation, and continuous process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

Trade Processing & Exchange Operations

• Lead and manage day-to-day trade processing activities for Equity, Currency, Commodity, Institutional, Custody segments.
• Ensure all trades executed during the trading day are accurately captured, validated, processed, settled, accounted for, and reported within defined timelines.
• Monitor trade lifecycle from execution through settlement while ensuring adherence to exchange and regulatory guidelines.
• Verify daily exchange obligations and reconcile settlement data with exchange records.
• Ensure timely completion of pay-in/pay-out obligations and settlement activities.

Custody Operations

• Oversee end-to-end custody trade processing for custodian clients.
• Coordinate with Custodians for timely trade confirmations, affirmation, settlement instructions, and exception resolution.
• Ensure timely STP (Straight Through Processing) upload of custodian clients trades.
• Monitor and resolve STP exceptions, unmatched trades, and settlement failures.
• Coordinate with Custodians, Clearing Members, Depositories, and internal teams to ensure smooth settlement.
• Manage DVP (Delivery Versus Payment) settlement processes and ensure timely execution.
• Track settlement status and proactively resolve trade and settlement discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with custodian client SLAs.

Contract Notes & Billing

• Oversee generation and dispatch of daily Contract Notes and Bills through electronic and physical modes.
• Ensure Contract Notes are generated accurately and duly authorized as per regulatory requirements.
• Manage monthly reconciliation of exchange charges and provide validated data to the Finance & Accounts team.
• Monitor brokerage billing, exchange charges, and operational revenue reporting.

Margin Reporting & Regulatory Reporting

• Ensure timely reporting of margin collection files to Stock Exchanges for Equity, Currency, and Commodity segments.
• Perform reconciliation of exchange margin reporting and penalty reports.
• Monitor daily margin reporting compliance and maintain MIS.
• Ensure adherence to Exchange, SEBI, Clearing Corporation, and Depository guidelines.

Reconciliation & MIS

• Perform reconciliation of:
• Exchange obligations
• Custody settlements
• Margin reporting
• Billing and exchange charges
• Trade confirmations
• DVP settlements
• Maintain operational MIS relating to:
• Trade processing
• Margin reporting
• Transaction modifications
• Brokerage changes
• Exchange penalties
• Operational KPIs
• Custody operations
• Generate periodic management reports and operational dashboards.

Audit, Compliance & Risk Management

• Coordinate with Compliance, Internal Audit, Statutory Audit, Exchange Inspection, and Regulatory teams.
• Provide operational data, reconciliations, and supporting documents during audits.
• Ensure timely closure of audit observations and implementation of corrective actions.
• Strengthen operational controls to mitigate operational and regulatory risks.
• Ensure compliance with SEBI, Stock Exchange, Depository, and Custodian guidelines.

System Enhancement & Process Automation

• Coordinate with IT teams and software vendors for:
• Exchange-mandated system upgrades
• New process implementation
• STP enhancements
• Process automation
• Error rectification
• System maintenance
• Maintain operational reports and ensure timely implementation of system enhancements.
• Identify opportunities for automation and operational efficiency improvements.

Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of Equity, Currency, Commodity, Custody Operations.
• In-depth understanding of Exchange Settlement, Clearing Corporation processes, DVP settlement, Custodian Operations, STP processing, Trade Lifecycle.
• Expertise in Trade Processing, Contract Note generation, Billing, Margin Reporting, and Exchange Reconciliation.
• Sound knowledge of SEBI, Exchange, Depository, and Custodian regulations.
• Experience in Operational Risk Management, Audit Coordination, and Regulatory Reporting.
• Strong analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional coordination abilities.
• Proven experience in process automation and operational excellence.
• Strong leadership, people management, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.
• NISM VIII Risk and Operational module certification required.

Experience

• 0 to 3 years of experience in Capital Market Operations, Trade Processing, Custody Operations, Exchange Settlements, and Regulatory Reporting.
