What they need
Harrison Financial Services is a premier private wealth management firm in Omaha, dedicated to serving high-capacity families. We go beyond standard investment management, offering a sophisticated, comprehensive approach to wealth preservation, multi-generational planning, and complex risk management. Our team operates with a "client-first" mentality, providing private client and family office services backed by institutional-grade talent.
The Role
The Associate Wealth Advisor is an early-career advisory role designed to build the experience, judgment, and commercial discipline required to progress to Private Wealth Advisor.
This role serves as the primary contact for an assigned group of clients, delivering comprehensive advice, coordinating HFS resources, and building enduring relationships. Alongside client management, the position emphasizes active business development and provides increasing exposure to larger, more complex opportunities as the advisor’s capabilities mature.
Key Responsibilities
Client Advisory & Relationship Management
- Primary Advisor Ownership: Serve as the lead advisor for assigned clients, driving relationship management, proactive communication, and overall service quality.
- Advice & Execution: Develop a deep understanding of client goals to deliver tailored advice across financial planning, investments, insurance, and estate/trust considerations.
- Resource Orchestration: Coordinate cross-functional HFS resources, including Planning, Investments, and Advanced Planning, to ensure seamless execution and follow-through.
- Relationship Expansion: Identify opportunities to deepen existing client relationships, knowing when to leverage senior advisors or internal subject-matter experts.
Business Development
- Pipeline Management: Build and maintain a disciplined prospecting routine, actively managing a pipeline of high-potential opportunities.
- Growth Generation: Cultivate relationships with prospective clients, Centers of Influence (COIs), and referral partners to expand the firm’s client base.
- Collaborative Prospecting: Partner with Private Wealth Advisors and HFS specialists on larger, more complex prospective client opportunities.
- Skill Advancement: Continuously refine sourcing, qualification, and closing techniques to drive consistent organic growth.
Advisor Development
- Technical & Advisory Mastery: Deepen technical expertise and advisory judgment to confidently navigate complex wealth management scenarios.
- CFP® Certification: Obtain the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation, if not already held.
- Joint Work & Coaching: Leverage joint work opportunities with senior advisors to elevate client presentation and relationship management skills; actively incorporate coaching feedback.
Firm Contribution
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner effectively across Operations, Investments, Planning, and Leadership teams to deliver a unified client experience.
- Culture & Initiatives: Active participation in client events, firm growth priorities, and business development initiatives.
- Professional Standards: Model high accountability, strong judgment, and alignment with HFS values and operational standards.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field preferred.
- Licensing – Nebraska Life/Health, Series 7 and 63 are required.
- 2-3 years of experience in private wealth management, financial advisory, family office, or related client-facing role.
- CFP® designation preferred (willingness to obtain this designation is required).
- Proven track record managing high-net worth client relationships and driving new business through growth.
- Strong working knowledge of investment strategies, financial planning principles, and estate/tax concepts.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills.
- Elevated level of discretion and professionalism in handing sensitive client information.
Career Progression
The Associate Wealth Advisor role serves as a key milestone on the path to Private Wealth Advisor. Advancement is evaluated on overall readiness to manage a larger, more complex practice – specifically demonstrating the ability to independently lead relationships, drive new business, exercise sound judgment, and achieve the economic criteria established in the HFS Path to Partnership.
Progression is based on demonstrated readiness and sustained contribution; it is not automatic based on tenure or any single performance metric.
