Associate/Assistant Manager, Japanese Equities

Job Purpose:
The Analyst will provide investment research and administrative support to the Japan Equites team.

Responsibilities:
Cover multiple sectors for the Japanmarket.

Perform stock and sector analysis, make recommendations for the Japan equities portfolios.

Develop a thorough understanding of company’s business.

Build and maintain financial and valuation models for companies covered, with varying degrees of granularity.

Value the company’s securities based on a sound and thorough understanding of its business, competitive position and growth prospects.

Monitor the company’s progress, stock performance and update relevant parties of key developments.

Pre-requisites:
Relevant degree, preferably with 1-5 years of experience in advisory, research or investment management role within banking, brokerage, asset management or fund house working environment.

Exposure to the Japan market as part of a specialist, international orglobal team

Experience covering Japan or global tech sectors is highly desirable,but not essential

Solid financial analysis, modeling skills and understanding of differentvaluation techniques

Strong ability to construct and articulate concise investment theses and pitch recommendations with conviction to senior investors.

Self-starter, independent thinker and a resilient individual

Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment
